Embedded Firmware Engineer - R&D
(PRODUCT DESIGN)

Advantage Air is one of Australia’s leading manufacturer, wholesaler and supplier of high end residential air conditioning systems and home automation controls. Advantage Air’s Perth based R&D team is looking for an Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer to assist in the development of a new generation of consumer products.
With a stern commitment to consistently achieving the highest standards required for world class products, you will have a minimum of 3 years of embedded firmware development experience. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop commercially viable products, starting from conceptual design through to manufacture and commercial sale. You will work closely with other members of R&D, Sales and Manufacturing to ensure the products developed are to the highest possible standard.
Some of the technologies we currently use are CAN-bus, RS232, RS-485, USB, TCP/IP, (ds)PIC, MSP430, ARM Processors, Embedded Linux, and GSM/GPRS engines.
You will possess the following essential skills:
• Embedded software design using ANSI-C.
• Documentation and Version Control.
• Proficient with 8bit, 16bit & 32bit Microcontrollers
Some of the skills that may possess that will be advantageous, but not essential:
• Familiar with the technologies and network protocols above.
• Embedded software design using C++.
• Embedded system hardware design.
• PCB design,
• Prototype building and testing.
Other characteristics you will require:

• Enthusiastic.
• Highly motivated.
• Responsible and reliable.
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Can-do attitude and not afraid to get your hands dirty occasionally
The position requires:
• Practical experience in embedded firmware design
