Embedded Firmware Engineer - R&DAdvantage Air is one of Australia’s leading manufacturer, wholesaler and supplier of high end residential air conditioning systems and home automation controls. Advantage Air’s Perth based R&D team is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to assist in the development of consumer products with a focus on energy savings.
With a stern commitment to consistently achieving the highest standards required for world class products, you will have a minimum of 3 years of embedded firmware development experience in an R&D environment. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop commercially viable products, starting from conceptual design through to manufacture and commercial sale. You will work closely with other members of R&D, Sales and Manufacturing to ensure the products developed are to the highest possible standard.
Advantage Air’s R&D team have won numerous innovation awards and has more than 30 patents and registered designs. There is a great working environment in R&D with a close team that gets on well and works well together. The company is fast moving and innovative and the work is interesting and ground breaking in its field.
Some of the technologies we currently use are CAN-bus, RS232, RS-485, USB, TCP/IP, MSP430, ARM Processors and Embedded Linux.
You will possess the following essential skills:
• Embedded software design using ANSI-C.
• Documentation and Version Control.
• Proficient with Microcontrollers (8bit, 16bit & 32bit)
Some of the skills that may possess that will be advantageous, but not essential:
• Familiar with the technologies and network protocols above.
• Familiar with Linux
• Embedded (Linux) software design using C++
Other characteristics you will require:
• Innovative.
• Enthusiastic.
• Able to work in a team environment
The position requires:
• Practical experience in embedded firmware design
• Authority to work in Australia (work visa or citizenship)
