FAQs

What is the Fresh Air component?

The Fresh Air System is an electronically controlled device that measures the enthalpy outside of the house. For example, in summer, if the Fresh Air senses outside has less energy (ie. is cooler) than that inside the house (25% of the time) it opens and brings cool air in. This creates an average of 22% energy saving or a 38% energy saving if used with a Gen III System (the one that switches the unit off or cycles it down). The Fresh Air component can also be opened at any time by the user to allow fresh air to enter the house.

Does Advantage Air supply the unit?

Yes, Advantage Air has its own specifically designed air conditioner (indoor & outdoor unit) that is designed to integrate fully with other Advantage Air Systems. The Advantage Air air conditioner is one of the first to use R407C, the worlds new breed of non-ozone depleting refrigerants.

Do you provide ducted evaporative systems or refrigerated (reverse cycle) systems?

Advantage Air offer ducted refrigerated systems which allow both heating and cooling to a more precise and measurable level than evaporative cooling.

What is the best time to buy?

The best time to buy is between August and November as this is when the air conditioning season starts, times are not as busy and you are more likely to get a quality installer and wait less time for your air conditioning to be installed.

Can the Zone 10 System be connected to heating?

Yes. Zone 10 is very flexible and can be connected to reverse cycle, ducted heating, and ducted heating with add-on cooling. For more details speak to an Advantage Air representative.

Is Gen III recommended for two storey houses?

Yes. The Gen III system is a great solution to the problems associated with keeping even temperatures in two storey houses. Upstairs and downstairs areas can be individually regulated to give temperature control everywhere. It is however, often difficult to install air conditioning into an existing two storey house, and it is important to consult with an air conditioning installer during the design and construction phase.
